An Interesting Question (LE)

In one of the groups I am in online, I read this question today. "Has anyone else with complex mental health needs had issues with police?"

My response... I've had it go both ways, super great and unbelievably horrible. In my experience, if they have a decent size heart and are fairly empathetic, they will realize you need kid gloves at times before you have to tell them anything at all. On the other hand, If you've got one with a hero complex, the dismissive way they handle you is absolutely enraging.

I'm not sure if the reasoning behind that is because that individual knows they can't fix you and it takes away from their ego trip or what?

Either way, I wish every law enforcement officer would realize that they are, sometimes, the only kind human beings those of us with broken brains ever see.
